Governor’s toxics bill scheduled for executive session

HB 1472 (Concerning use of chemical action plans to require safer chemicals in Washington) will be considered in the House Committee on Environment in executive session on at least one of three days (February 16, 17 or 19). These dates could change.

Joint memorial on hatchery plan reviews passes out of committee

SJM 8001 (Requesting Congress to provide the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Fisheries with sufficient resources to expedite its endangered species act and national environmental policy act review of Puget Sound hatchery and genetic management plans and that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Fisheries prioritize and conduct immediate review and approval of Puget Sound hatchery and genetic management plans) passed out of committee earlier this week.

The memorial passed with an amendment, that is summarized in this bill report. The memorial will be considered next by the Rules Committee, who will then decide whether to pass it along to the full senate.
